The immediate negative social cost of locating a power generating plant along the coast of Ada over a stretch of 16 Acres includes:
Direct impact: Loss of livelihood for fisher folks, fish mongers, farmers and immediate habitat within environs of operational area of plant
Indirect impact: Loss of income which will in turn affect education, health and standard of living for locals within operational area of plant.
On the contrary, the plant has;
- No negative impacts on food and national security.
- No adverse impact on Public Safety.
- No environmental hazard and hence no adverse impact on the health of the people living within and around the surrounding communities.
